Balinese Dance, Culture & Ceremony in Ubud

Born and raised in Bali, Kadek Dewi Aryani grew up immersed in the island's rich artistic heritage. Trained in classical Balinese performing arts, she has dedicated her life to sharing this ancient tradition with the world.

Her journey has taken her to stages on four continents — from the Hollywood Bowl to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, from Amsterdam's July Dance Festival to universities like MIT and the National University of Singapore. She has introduced Balinese and Indonesian contemporary dance to audiences in over 15 countries, collaborated on a Hollywood film soundtrack, and was featured in Netflix's documentary series We Speak Dance.

But for her, the greatest stage is the one where a student discovers the joy of movement for the first time.

KDA Art Space is the realization of that vision: a home for Balinese arts in Ubud, where tradition is preserved, creativity is nurtured, and everyone — regardless of age or experience — is invited to step into the dance.
